Standard Chartered Bank will launch video banking in Kenya before end of the year following a successful roll out of the service in Malaysia and Singapore.

Video banking allows clients to interact with the bank over digital channels, including web chat, audio and video.

Clients can speak with banking consultants over a secure video connection from a location of their choice.

“This new sales and service channel allows clients to do almost anything they can do in a branch; from signing up for a new card to finding a mortgage to suit their needs,” said Standard Chartered Bank’s CEO for retail banking Karen Fawcett.

“Now you don’t have to come into a branch to talk to somebody face-to-face.”
