Burundian defender Karim Nizigiyimana and Uganda Cranes utility player Godfrey Walusimbi are set to travel to Sudan to join Gor Mahia in their preseason training.
The fifteen time Kenyan champions are expected to face Al Hilal in a high profile friendly match on Thursday before locking horns with Al Khartoum in their second match.
The pair was part of the key players who missed their first friendly match against St. Georges of Ethiopia last Friday, but according to head coach Frank Nuttall it’s not the fault of the other players to have missed the trip.
“We have 18 players here in Sudan and we are expecting Walusimbi and Karim to joins us before our friendly match. Ali Abondo is unwell and Khalid Aucho, Abouba Sibomana and Innocent Wafula are yet to be part of us and it isn’t their fault,” Nuttall told the club’s website.
A number of key players missed the first trip but in Sudan, Nuttall is having a good squad to make selection from after some key players who were not in Ethiopia made it.
