GENERAL Motors agent, Thika Motor Dealers, plans to set up a Sh50 million shop in Kitui county next year. TMD operations director Arnold Mukora said the firm which deals mainly with Isuzu and Chevrolet vehicles will establish a state-of-the-art showroom and a modern service centre and spare parts shop.

Mukora said through its Isuzu Mashinani Programme, TMD will partner with hundreds of youth in Kitui County to sell spare parts in containers strategically placed across market centres in the county.

“By February 2016, we shall establish the youth centred spare parts sales network in the containers and start construction of the showrooms by June 2016,” Mukora disclosed.

He spoke in Kitui when he paid a courtesy call on Kitui Governor Julius Malombe. The meeting was a follow up to a pledge the firm made during the September 25 and 26 Kitui Investors’ Conference.
