Safaricom won two prestigious awards at the first ever Careers   In Africa Employer of Choice Awards held last week in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The leading mobile network operator was named the Africa Employer of Choice 2015 for Leadership and Management and the Africa Employer of Choice 2015 for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The awards are intended to help employers understand what matters the most to potential employees with different levels of experience.

“Winning these awards is a validation of the strong brand that Safaricom has created over the years by providing a desirable working environment and numerous opportunities for employees to grow in their chosen career paths,” the Safaricom Resources Director, Roy Masamba said.

The Careers In Africa Employer of Choice survey covered 54 African countries, looking at various markets and industries and sought insights from over 500,000 respondents drawn from a pool of international and local talent.

The survey included 500 major local, regional and international brands spread out across the African continent.

Safaricom which recently marked its 15th anniversary recently scooped the best Person to Person programme for its mobile money service M-Pesa.

M-Pesa has in recent years received over 50 awards at international platforms and has emerged globally as the most versatile mobile money solution.
