Champions Gor Mahia host Western Stima in their penultimate Kenyan Premier League game of the season at Moi Stadium in Kisumu. While Gor maintained their unbeaten run with a close 1-0 win over Tusker FC over the weekend; Stima succumbed to a 3-1 demolition by Bandari in Mombasa to spoil their weekend.

Gor who are top of the 16 team chart with 72 points, a difference of 15 with second placed Ulinzi Stars with 57, will be playing for pride and ensure they keep their unbeaten run in place.

Coach Frank Nuttal said, “We are just working hard and the fact that results are coming our way is very motivating. We have already surpassed the stipulated targets for this season, but the boys still want to do more and achieve their best possible finish in the league”

The visitors will be buoyed by the presence of attacking midfielder Fred Shimonyo who missed last weekend’s clash against Bandari after earning red card in their previous match against Chemelil Sugar that ended in a 1-1 draw.
Stima coach Henry Omino has urged calmness from his charges at this crucial juncture when they have one more match against KCB on Sunday at the same venue to wind up the season.

Omino wants his charges to be more efficient in front of goal and with the likes of John Kiplagat, Kevin Okoth, Shafik Batambuze, Mike Barasa, Wesley Kemboi and Bairon Oketch seeking to end Gor Mahia unbeaten run.

Gor will stick to the try and tested line up led by top striker Michael Olunga, assisted by Ali Abondo, Innocent Wafula, Collins Okoth , Meddie Kagere and George Odhiambo.

In defence, Musa Mohammed, Harun Shakava and Karim Nizigiyimana will provide the necessary experience to keep out the Stima attack.

In midfield Gor will look to the leadership of Uganda Cranes international Khalid Aucho, Erick Ochieng and Ernest Wendo to have him in good stead against their battle hardened opponents.
